The Bridge is currently on BBC 4.
It is a compelling, intriguing and enthralling series.
Its central conceit is that a murder on the bridge linking Denmark and Sweden brings together police detectives from both countries.
Scandinavian noir has never been better in this dark thriller about a murdered who is either a serial killer or terrorist.
With solid acting, great scripts and brilliant acting, The Bridge is part The Wire and part 24 but it never feels as though it is a carbon copy of some other television programme. It manages to touch upon themes that both these other excellent shows deal with while being fresh and different.
Like recent noir from Denmark and Sweden, it shows an underbelly that people normally associate with Britain and the US.
If you haven't seen it yet then watch it again on BBC iPlayer.
