2012 comes to an end as 2012 begins

As we edge closer to the beginnings of the opening ceremony of the Olympics games in London, the comedy series 2012 comes to an end.

In its style, the show is a cousin to the glorious The Thick of It although not as sharp or funny as that political satire.

What makes it stand out are the deadpan performances and the fact that only the British would poke fun at a major sporting event they were about to host.

Its attempt to show the inanity of modern office life can only go so far. This sort of thing has been done before, although I have to admit I was never a fan of The Office either. One of the problems is that these shows are a bit too real. If you work in an office, why do you want to go home and watch your day's experience repeated on television?
