My TiVo box doesn't understand me

One of the selling points of a TiVo box is that it learns what you like.  The idea is that it clocks what you have recorded and then suggests programmes that you might like. Those suggestions are saved for you to watch. To improve the suggestions you can use a thumbs up or thumbs down image.

Despite all that, the box gets it wrong.

I don't know if it doesn't approve of my taste or just can't distinguish between brilliant subtle comedy like The Thick of It and slightly obvious amusing wryness like 2012.

It is true that both programmes have no laughter track and are filmed to a high quality. That, for me, is where the similarity ends.

Sadly, TiVo it is you and not me.
